TLA Consignment Sale Rules
Each sale nomination must have a birth weight, adj.usted
weaning weight, adj.usted yearling weight, and adj.usted
scrotal measurement listed on original NALF performance
record and be submitted at time of entry.
Limousin bulls must have the following minimum level of
performance:
550 adj. weaning weight
900 adj. yearling weight
32 cm scrotal circumference
Bulls must enter performance test where noted
Limousin females must have the following minimum
level of performance:
450 adj. weaning weight
700 adj. yearling weight
1. Consignors must be members of the Texas Limousin
Association. Application for membership may be obtained
by contacting the TLA at P.O. Box 880 Krum, TX 76249.
2. All bulls must be 75% or greater or be registered
Lim-Flex to be eligible to sell. All females must be 50%
or greater and if breeding age must be carrying a calf
that is at least 75%. Calves at side of 50% females must
be at least 75%.
3. ORIGINAL REGISTRATION CERTIFICATES must be mailed
with entry form and will be transferred to new owner.
All animals must be properly tattooed. RECORD YOUR
ANIMALS EARLY and have your papers and performance data
available for cataloging purposes.
4. All bulls selling must be solid red or solid black in
color.
5. Age: All bulls selling must be at least 15 months of
age and no more than three years of age on sale day.
Females selling must not be over eight years of age on
sale day.
6. Weight requirements:
A. Bulls 15-24 months of age must weigh 2.3 per day of
age.
15 months >1046 lb. 20 months >1391 lb.
16 months >1118 lb. 21 months >1467 lb.
17 months >1187 lb. 22 months >1538 lb.
18 months >1258 lb. 23 months >1607 lb.
19 months >1327 lb.
B. Bulls must weigh 1679 lb. for first 24 months of age
plus gain .8 lb. per day of age after 24 months to 28
months
25 months lb.1730 lb. 27 months lb.1752 lb.
26 months lb.1720 lb. 28 months lb.1801 lb.
7. Bulls and females must be dehorned with no horn
re-growth
8. Bulls selling must be fertility tested and sold as
guaranteed fertile.
9. Females two years of age or greater must be bred or
sell with calf at side.
10. All cattle must meet all health requirements for
state and interstate movement and have an individual
certificate of veterinary inspection issued with in 30
days of the sale. Cattle of age are required to have a
negative brucellosis and TB test. Results of fertility
tests on bulls and pregnancy status of females should be
noted on health certificate. Do not mail certificates
give them to sale management upon arrival.
11. A single ear tag is to be used to denote lot number.
Tags will be furnished by sale mgt.
12. Entry Fee: $50 per head at time of entry. Entry fee
is a precautionary measure to insure cataloging costs
are covered and will be credited towards sale expense.
Entry fee will not be refunded on cattle pulled from
sale. No cattle will be cataloged until entry fee,
signed entry form, and ORIGINAL REGISTRATION
CERTIFICATES are received in TLA office.
13. P.O.s MUST BE DECLARED PRIOR TO BEGINNING OF SALE.
14. Owners are responsible for feeding watering,
bedding, and otherwise caring for their cattle.
15. Consigned cattle remain the property of the owner
until sold in the ring.
16. Sale management will have the authority to limit the
number of cattle sold.
17. Sale Expense: The sale is to be self supporting with
all fixed expenses and sale commission divided on a
percentage basis. Checks for all sale proceeds will be
mailed as soon as all checks have been collected.
18. Sifting: Any animal that arrives at the sale
location in an unsound or undesirable condition may be
rejected by the sale committee. No refund will be made
on animals rejected at this time. Sifting Criteria:
A. Cattle not meeting weight requirements
B. Cattle with structural defects
C. Cattle that have been foundered
D. Cattle with excessive horn growth
E. Papers not in order, tattoos not readable
F. Cattle with small or deformed testicles
G. Cattle with bad eyes
H. Cattle in thin condition
I. Cattle that are wild and unruly
19. Graders will inspect the cattle the evening prior to
sale date to insure cattle meet sifting criteria and to
establish sale order. |
